How to promote a new song on TikTok, Reels and Shorts with short videos
Short vertical video is where most people now discover new music. The artists who break through usually post more often, with more variations — not one perfect video.
A simple release-week plan
- Before release: post a 10–15 second clip of the hook to start the conversation.
- Release day: post the chorus in 9:16 with the link to stream the song.
- Days 2–7: post a different section each day — verse, bridge, the line people quote.
- Reuse what works: when one clip gets traction, make two more versions of that same section.
Make many versions from one photo
With Projects you can generate 2 to 4 versions of the same section side by side — different scenes, lighting or camera — and post the strongest. Add B-roll clips between shots for variety.
Captions and hooks
- Put the lyric on screen — many people watch without sound.
- Start with the strongest line in the first second.
- Ask a question in the caption to invite comments.
- Post at the same times each day so your audience knows when to look.
